Jin Kisaragi vs. Kageo-kaka (Duel Rp Sample)

As the modified Kaka found his way onto the field, with the greater of his wits about him, though it was against his better judgment he decided it was time to train. It had been a while since he'd put himself before the fury of active training. As the Kaka removed the Yari-Great spear, Nihongo from his back; the pole arm extended and took to its full length. Something of which was greater than his height, yet wielded with little trouble.

"Nyan, alright...time to put some effort forward!" giving the word to himself, he wordlessly thrusted the great spear forward and twisted the center of it forward with a practiced hand. It seemed despite all of the gentle nature and even the fear itself of combat with those stronger than him; he was not without some level of skill or power. As it seemed here he showed a little of both, working on his practiced freehand; hoping to better hone the spear with greater fortune in combat. As he knew it was best said in a book he'd read once that the Kaka elder had, 'At times it is the skilled hand that wins the combat, power is not always the answer'.

Skill...that was what he needed more of. If only then the kaka would realized that he was not alone, it seemed that he either was tracked or by mere happenstance had made his way into the wrong area to train in.

Jin was walking along the grassy fields as he continued searching for his brother. That was his only goal, to find and kill his older brother. But he wasn't stupid Jin knew how powerful Ragna The Bloodedge was he had to be strong for him to be classed as an S Class Criminal. So Jin decided to train some more so he would hopefully get the chance to see some kind of despair on his brother's face as he killed him. Luckily Jin knew of a training grounds where he always went to ever since he first joined the Academy. But today as he entered the training field he was disgusted to see someone else was training in the fields. He looked like a member of the Kaka clan. Jin decided to investigate as he held Yukianesa with a firm grip.

"Hey you! What on Earth are you doing in my Training Field? Leave now...Or suffer my wrath Kaka!" Jin swung Yukianesa a bit as he got prepared to fight, as he waited for the cats answer white snowy mist evaporated from his Nox Nycotres, it looked like she too was prepared for a battle with the Kaka clansmen.

The moment the icy voice hit his ears, Kageo's form went rigid as he turned, gripping Nihongo carefully while eyeing him for the slightest movement. His eyes flickered for but a moment as he seemed to scan the level of danger and who it was. A small mechanical voice would speak softly into Kageo's ear, but a whisper of what he was facing. "Threat Level Assessment: Level Moderate to High, Rating Class: A+ to S-, Directive: Avoid if possible, do not engage." the words of course were just what his assessments told him.

Of course he was no fool and decided to do what he thought might be best, he knew the only way to get stronger was to challenge those of a different class. If he always ran from the stronger foes he would never get anywhere, he wanted to make himself more useful to the Professor. He was little more than an information gatherer of sorts...it was about time that he at least wouldn't be left in shambles. "Jin Kisaragi, Nyan...Kageo-kaka has a formal request as this is your field of battle training, will you allow Kageo to spar with your famous blade?" of course this came at a chance, he knew that Jin wasn't known for kindness and destroyed a city as it was said.

His body was always preparing for the conflict, Jin's words of warning often ended after one point and on the next point his body activated the Artifice Core Defense System, the very thing that released all of the energy he'd been storing for an emergency. It would allow him to fight on more even grounds with someone of his caliber; 'Believe...just believe...', this was the true secret that the Kaka Elder told him.

Jin couldn't understand what this guy before him was after. He trespassed in his training grounds without his permission and now he's going to ask a former Major from the Novus Orbis Libraium for a spar? Jin thought the cat was stupid and insane....But he had guts and most likely lots of determination, and Jin liked that within the body of this Kaka. Jin swished his blond hair from his glistening green eyes as he got in a battle ready stance and chuckled with a smile at the Kaka.

"So...You think you have what it takes to challenge me? The "Hero of Ikaruga?" Tch, you have to be insane...But that determination...I like that. Besides I might need a little sparring practice to before I reach my goal so to hell with it why not eh? I hope you better fight seriously. I have been known to accidentally kill people during spars back in my days of the N.O.L."

As Jin got ready he slowly began to unsheathe Yukianesa as more powdery snow evaporated from the blade. However Jin did not take a single step towards the Kaka. He might have fought several Kaka clansmen before but some of them had different capabilities. Not only that, but Jin didn't want to fight the cat until he stated he was ready. "Whenever your prepared to fight come at me with all you have, I won't pull any punches on you."

Kageo smiled genuinely at the mention from Jin, he'd heard all he had mentioned; the possibility of Death existed with walking in this plane of existence. It could be an accident as the way you go, but you'd never know without stepping forward. Kageo was thrilled at the chance to fight someone whose power was greater, even without the machine that rated targets, his instincts read into the soul of his opponents somewhat; it was possibly a reflection of their DNA source's great fighting prowess? There was a chance of that there. EIther way the modified Kaka wasn't sure where it came from, all that was important was that it was a tool at his disposal, a combat skill; a survival edge sharpened enough to serve him in both capacities of defense and offense.

"Thank you Jin Kisaragi, then Kageo shall ready himself." as he bit down on his bottom lip a moment, Kageo felt the surge of the awakening Artifice Cores growing; certainly he'd awakened them quietly, but now he actively drew them to at least 50% of their power. He could take no chances in losing his life, so he was proceeding with great caution.

"Awakening of the waning moon, the Sealed Spear; Kagennotsuki!" as he spoke the words of awakening, always varying from time to time; the words still brought Nihongo's blade head to spread somewhat; while gaining a soft blue hue to it, the aura building around the feline becoming present too. He was ranging around a light orange aura, showing his spirit for the battle had already raised his physical capabilities.

"Nyan, let us begin." this was to give Jin the go ahead and the first move would be his.

Jin smirked at the Kaka's confidence, but did he truly have what it takes to combat against Major Jin Kisaragi, The Hero of Ikaruga? Jin looked puzzle as the Kaka chanted something about a Sealed Spear and was surprised when both the cat and the spear itself were enveloped in a blue aura light. Since Jin had no clue what this was he decided to keep his distance until he figured out the Kaka's abilities. As Jin started running to the Kaka's left side he swiped Yukianesa four times, each slash firing a wide blade made from ice as a sign of long range attacks to keep the Kaka away. After the attack Jin quickly returned the blade to it's sheath as the powder like snow constantly evaporated from the blade at a constant rate.

"Let's see how good you can take these blades Kaka clansmen!"

"Kyah!"In his method of dealing with long blades of ice, Kageo reacted in a quick manner; spiraling the center of the large spear and sweeping the blade of the newly active spear in a vicious adjacent slash. Immediately from the edge of the strange looking spearhead swept a blade of the mysterious energy, known only as 'Caeruleus', it seemed to be something of a naturally produced source; some kind of interaction between Kageo's body and the artifice cores within. The slash of the soft blue light easily met the first blade of ice and seared through it; as Kageo once more took no chances with holding back, had ensured that it packed enough heat to chop the blades of ice.

However he noted after contact with the second blade of ice the light began to fade from it. As he had been following the blade of light's path, he simply repeated his arcing slashes, this time in an opposite direction; creating a cross slash, as this was now his plan to see the arc lights following their track; were both aimed right for the Major. He was not underestimating him, not in the slightest...the better way to think of it was that this too would gauge Jin's ability to deflect a strange energy type.

As the ice blades were all destroyed by the Kaka he fired two slashes of the spear he wielded towards him, Jin chuckled at his straight forward method as he unsheathed Yukianesa and blocked the slashes, just then Jin formed a large crystal out of ice in mid air as he hopped onto it, as he crouched on it the crystal propelled straight forward with its sharp tip pointing at the Kaka's chest, if he didn't find someway to avoid Jin's Crystal Strike technique, then the Kaka clansmen would bore a hole through his chest giving this battle a premature end.

"First rule of fighting, don't run straight ahead until you know your enemy can't counter!"

"Understood, The singing spear edge!" the attack epithet given the sweeping motion of his spear, the end of which was coming down at an angle, Jin would find the ice blade cleaved in two by the nimble kaka, who allowed his body to couch lower to the ground for his chance to build up speed; using the momentum of the attack against the ice itself.

As the feline was certain that his opponent had passed him sufficiently, Kageo took the opportunity to attack; thrusting the spear forward, forming a bridge of Caeruleus energy along the spear's edge to increase the range by about 20 feet in this case; the blade of the mysterious energy wasn't entirely stable, but it allowed his thrust to reach the Ex-Major of NOL; after all he couldn't leave the attacks just to him right?

As Jin's Crystal Strike was destroyed he continued to fly pass the Kaka as he landed on his knees the Kaka fired the spear towards him, it looked even longer than before! Despite this Jiin quickly stood up and unsheathed Yukianesa as he used his Fubuki attack and swirled around really fast, Yukianesa became encased in white ice as his spinning slash collided with the energy spear the resulting collision turned into a large explosion that covered the area in a smokescreen, however through the smoke Jin charged lots of ice based energy within Yukianesa and fired a downwards slash which fired a large wave of ice that literally froze the ground as it slide towards the Kaka clansmen if it would hit the ice blade would deal major damage and stun them momentarily. "Senta Hyogen! Blades of Ice!"

"Tail of the Roaming Spear!" while unable to see yet what his opponent at done, he took no chances in this and leapt to an adjacent angle, the height he'd gained being somewhere around 20 feet, it was least to say that this 'tail' of energy was aimed towards the last known direction of Major Kisaragi, having heard the call of this sudden ice attack; Kageo's aura had taken a darker blue tint, for the moment it had shown the greater source of energy, the Caeruleus had become stronger as the fight picked up.
However this was not without its fall back.

As the kaka knew better than anyone, that his power danced up...and danced down, his 'peak spike' was close and soon he'd have to play defense and evasion until that spike turned. Unless he wished to risk activating his Seithr Resonance mode, otherwise known as the Kigi-Hayai Battle Form. But that was a spare maneuver that had to be well protected; he couldn't just use it so easily. Though one thing was clear, that was the fact that his opponent had easily lived up to his measurable strength rating so far.

As the Kaka flew right into his Tenka Hyojin. Jin grinned as the Kaka's attack landed into the ice blade. However the energy the Kaka stored was to much and the attacks cancelled each other out in a draw. Jin grew furious as he saw this. If Jin couldn't beat one lonely Kaka clansmen how in the hell would he be able to kill his brother Ragna? Jin formed another Crystal Strike Ice blade and rode on it to get close the the cat. As he was close enough he hopped off the crystal which still flew and would skewer through the Kaka if he didn't counter or dodge it. But even if the crystal missed Jin landed on his feat and fired a series of 8 powerful sword slashes using his Sekkajin: Snow Flower Storm Technique which would leave several deep cut wounds in the Kaka if they all landed there mark. "I have to win this match! I have to get stronger! I won't be good enough to kill Niisan if I fail this fight!"

Kageo's eyes widened at the sight of the attacks, both of which meant for his death; spinning his body to the right of the attack; the Kaka considered his options and immediately did it...desperation called for desperate measures. His body would punish him later for this; while the peak of his power with the Kagennotsuki began to lower down; the mechanical voice spoke out loud of the dangers of what he was doing.

As he spotted the Eight slashes headed his way, he took to evasion, feeling the first of the blades skim past him; before feeling the rush of cold pain hit him as the second blade hit him. "Power levels optimal, Seithr resonance: Kigi-Hayai Activation. Danger: Seithr Resonance might result in over absorption." Kageo knew this before he activated it, but didn't care now...he had to live, as the second and third pang of pain from the slash hit him.

But as the seithr from the surrounding area resulted well in Kageo's performance increase; the temporary boost of power allowed hi to cancel the remaining 4 blades, though if anything it could be described as a raw seithr aura now burning around the kaka as he panted; the danger of invoking this form would be a price to pay. For one he would have here, only about 5 minutes at maximum to either land a decisive blow or leave...it would be possible; but his body would not be taking this very well afterwards.

Jin had this victory in the bag, the Kaka was getting hacked and slashed by him and Yukianesa, he thought it would only be a matter of time before the Kaka either died, or gave up. But something unexpected happened, his Sekkajin was canceled after cutting the cat only three times! The cause was a heavy, thick aura of Seithr concentration, of course! The Kaka clansmen are the only creatures capable of surviving in places of high Seithr concentration, it made perfect sense how a Kaka village lived under the 13th Hierarchical City Kagutsuchi. But this...This Seithr was out of the ordinary, Jin fought against a powerful clansmen known as Taokaka and she was insane, this concentration of Seithr ould be too much even for the likes of a Kaka! Jin knew the he was in grave danger and had to go all out or else he would most likely die. He quickly unsheathed Yukianesa and charged a large amount of power into the blade as he swirled once, lifting the blade high in the air as he glared at the cat.

"You Seithr absorbing Kaka, feel the thousands of years of pain within my ARCTIC DUNGEON!" Jin's Astral Heat activated, he stabbed Yukianesa into the ground, first freezing the floor all around them and suddenly freezing all of the entire airspace by freezing the water molecules in the air. If the Kaka was hit by the Arctic dungeon this entire match would be over as his body would be encased in a large layer of ice, and another layer after that. As Jin would re sheathe Yukianesa the ice would break itself, falling on the ground as swirling ice flower petals.

As the well noted attack was on the way, Kageo responded...much quicker than would be expected; it was as if he felt the attack that was tremoring his way, the Kaka made no effort to attack the Ex-Major of NOL. He took the full liberty of his new skill and the unleashed power and made a leap into the air. A straight forward maneuver of evasion, and with such power his legs easily boosted him into the air beyond the range of this attack; to Kageo's surprise even the visage of the powerhouse that was Jin, was little more than a speck in his vision. The Seithr scorched the ground where the kaka had been, a simple move that left damage in its wave. Kageo could feel the mode threatening to steal his conscious actions and send him into a rage. He could not afford to lose control, with this mass of power under his belt...he would do the thing that the Professor had often told him to do when facing such a threat.

As his body began to descend from the high leap, he considered his options...Jin Kisaragi had honored him with a spar, even if the chance of death was there; he dare not dishonor him by fleeing so easily. 'I must be strong...I will be strong.'. The words seemed to strengthen his resolve as he adjusted his body's frame and made use of Kagennotsuki's ability to focus his energy. "Kagennotsuki Seithr Resonance: Wrath of the Falling Dragon!" it was with his mind in sharp focus that he pushed the flaring seithr energy through his awakened spear; hoping to catch Jin with the maneuver.

Though the Major of NOL would have a fair chance of evasion, the reach of the spear's thrust was extended much further than it had been when Kageo had originally awakened his ear; with the blood of his boiling as far as it had been. Hearing once more the mechanical voice of warning speak aloud for him to hear. "Warning, 3 minutes reached, Seithr resonance at threatening levels, suggestion: is to release the mode." but this too was ignored: he would see this spar through.

Arctic Dungeon had failed to hit the Kaka as he sprung up in the air like a bottle rocket! As the Kaka fell from the air he fired his spear which was concentrated with the same high levels of Seithr at him, the range was incredible! "Shit! I got to get as far away from that spear as possible!" Jin created yet another Ice Car and hopped on it, riding as fast as he could the opposite direction of the Kaka. The spear was moving even faster than the Ice Car as the spear merely grazed his cheek, as the spear missed it slammed on the ground but because of the high Seithr concentration the result caused and explosion that destroyed Jin's Ice Car and sent him flying, he crashed through three trees in the field before he fell back to the ground. Jin coughed up blood as he most likely ruptured something during the collision. Jin spat the blood from his mouth as he used Yukianesa as a staff to help him regain his balance. He panted as he looked at the insane cat. "You got forsaken Kaka I refuse to lose! You are only an obstacle that I must overcome to be stronger for me to achieve my goal!" Jin took a slow start up but began running towards where the Kaka was returning to the ground and as he ducked, he lifted Yukianesa to a 90 degree angle which released a powerful slur of ice around it in the shape of the spear. Jin's Violent Ice Technique would fire straight up to the Kaka and if hit he would have a hole bored into his chest from Yukianesa's crushing power.

Kageo's senses immediately rang in on the danger, he had two dangers here...this would be his final two maneuvers before the end of the resonance. He did just this...two things that would keep the Major busy while he knew that he might well lose this battle; he would try to end it in his favor. Thrusting his body down the shaft of the main spear, he was certain at the speed he moved that the violent technique wouldn't hit him. His body's flare had become dark red, almost a bloody shade as he took to the ground. "This will end one way or another...If Kageo cannot get you with his spear, then...the field will light with Seithr!"

The Seithr was starting to corrupt his mind as he counted the moments, he had less than a minute to do something and thrust the Kagennotsuki into the ground; spreading the Seithr back to the land that he'd drawn it from. Of course Jin would understand what this would do, as he released the violent seithr back into the ground; there was just one massive outlash wave of it all over. While Kageo himself lost everything that had been charging him, this ground based maneuver was a gamble; but it held all that he could give at a whim. A wide wave of the same violent energy that had been rushing through his body a moment ago.

"T-That...is all I had..." the modified Kaka fell against his spear's polearm base, while looking onward...hoping for something, would this have ended the spar in his favor or had he just spelled his own loss? It was really hard to tell, his opponent was quite powerful and the resulting blows would need serious time for his own healing.

Jin's Violent Ice Technique was overwhelmed by the cat that overflowed with Seithr, this amount of Seithr was beyond belief! How could one member of the Kaka Clan utilize this much Seithr! Did he have some special technique or device in order to absorb so much? However his worry was that the Seithr was all being released from the Kaka clansmen's spear into the ground, the result would cause a massive explosion all over the entire training field! Jin thought the fight was over but something hit him in the head, he had an idea! But he didn't know if it would work or not. "I...I.....I am The Cold Steel, and I am The Just Sword! Kakkujin: Yukikaze! Winter's Riposte!" Jin had no idea where that tiny speech of his came from but a large, red circle of aura flew from his arm, as the seithr reached him....It did nothing! Instead Jin dashed from where he was standing to a few inches away from the Kaka's back with a sword slash that looked as if it could cut through the clouds itself. Due to the Kaka's appearance it appeared he wouldn't be able to dodge this attack, as he would be slashed his entire body would be frozen, and as Jin would re sheathe Yukainesa the ice would shatter. Releasing the Kaka to an unconscious state. Either way Jin would have most likely won this battle, that Seithr explosion looked as if that was the Kaka's last resort. Jin turned to face the Kaka before he fell into his state of unconsciousness. As he turned a single, blueish white angelic wing would form behind him from Yukianesa's Ice.

"Kaka..Tell me your name, it was an honor having to fight you, your control over seithr is beyond the normal extents of a Kaka! Besides I bet with this victory, I may have the strength to achieve my goal now. As a reward for your bravery...I will take you to the nearest hospital, a powerful fighter like you would be missed in this world if you died here and now right? I'll carry you, you can tell me your name as we reach the hospital." Jin walked over to the motionless cat as he let him lie on his back, Jin would exit the training field and try to find the nearest hospital.

Kageo couldn't help but smile in that light, not only was not quite dead; but here Jin Kisaragi even asked to know his name. It was a great thing for him was that fortune seemed to smile upon him. Though in a weakened stupor, Kageo did manage to speak clearly. "I am Kageo-kaka... the words spoken of course were some of the last, as there as no way that he was moving during this battle.

The modified Kaka would feel the last moments of his consciousness devoured by darkness, as Jin Kisaragi had headed in a direction towards the nearest hospital; something of a really kind fate had looked. Even in the dark, kageo felt as if he had grown...hopefully he had grown in all sense of the word.
